Empowering Dreams Through Scholarships
ASU Jefferson/Shelby Metro Alumni Chapter is thrilled to announce the annual scholarship programs, dedicated to supporting the educational aspirations of outstanding high school seniors and current college students within the Jefferson and Shelby County communities. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing financial support to those who demonstrate a significant need.
Basic Guidelines for Eligibility
The scholarship opportunity is open to Jefferson and Shelby County high school seniors who are graduating, as well as students from these counties who are currently enrolled at Alabama State University. If a scholarship award is given, the award will be paid to Alabama State University and applied toward targeted assistance (i.e., tuition, books, and fees).
Scholarship Applicants Must Meet the Following Criteria
1. High School student who is currently admitted to Alabama State University and plans to enroll on a full-time basis (i.e., 12 semester hours or greater) AND
2. Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or greater on a 4.0 scale,
OR
3. Must be currently enrolled at Alabama State University and in good academic standing.
Scholarship applicants should specifically state any special financial needs on their scholarship application that may not be obvious to the scholarship committee.
Scholarship applicants who have completed one full academic year at Alabama State University are not required to submit a high school transcript.
